Scarlet Macaw

Section Leader: Farm P

The scarlet macaw (Aramacao).Voted one of the most beautiful birds in the world. Is a large, South American parrot, a member of a large group of Neotropical parrots called macaws.

This majestic creature has a creamy white, almost featherless face, with bright red plumage covering most of its body, wings and long tail. Brilliant blue and yellow feathers also adorn the lower wings.

This beautiful bird can be found from southern Mexico to Peru, as well as Bolivia, eastern Brazil and the island of Trinidad.
