Get ready to laugh again, Chilliwack — Fraser Valley Comedy's new season starts this Friday.
On Sept. 15, the event headliner is Kathleen McGee.
McGee is the girl your parents warned you about. She will make you laugh and blush all at the same time. She's often labeled as dirty but she prefers honest. The darkest thoughts you've had McGee says them out loud.
She has been seen on the Just for Laughs Nasty Girls Show, JFL Northwest Nasty Show, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and CBC's Debaters. She can be heard regularly on SiriusXM and on her popular new podcast Kathleen McGee is a Hot Mess. She has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy today including Russell Peters, Ari Shaffir, Doug Stanhope and Hannibal Buress.
McGee's unapologetic and dark sense of humour has won her a cult following, don't miss what everyone has been talking about.
The evening as features Amber Harper-Young and is hosted by Cari Norton Moore.
Harper-Young was a finalist in B.C.'s Funniest Female 2014. Her performing highlights include: The Comics Lounge-Melbourne Australia, The Del Close Marathon NYC (Improv), Yuk Yuk's comedy clubs - Toronto/Ottawa/Vancouver and various other comedy clubs and touring shows across Canada. In 2015, she co-created/co-hosted and performed in a live series of Tragedy Comedy Shows at Yuk Yuk's. She also co-hosts Vancouverite, an independent monthly show that was selected to be a part of the JFL NorthWest Comedy Festival in 2016. Harper-Young's absurd colourful style of self-deprecating comedy is based on her upbringing and adult life.

On Friday, Sept. 22 it's Heavy Mental Comedy, where Fraser Valley Comedy will be raising awareness for mental heath at 8 p.m.
The headliner will be Melanie Rose.
Rose is truly a rose thriving on the thorny side of life. For close to a decade she has made light of the heaviest of issues in the Vancouver comedy scene and in comedy venues across Canada. Whether in a club, festival or on television she wows audiences with raw, honest insights on love, marriage, addiction, mental illness and trials of middle-class single mother's life. She was featured on the critically acclaimed APTN show She Kills Me, performed at Am Woman! Hear Me Laff!, Victoria's Funny Women's Festival and Victoria International Buskers Festival.
In addition to her standup comedy, Rose is dedicated sharing her journey with others to help remove the stigmas attached to addiction and mental health. In 2015, she envisioned and produced Medicated: A crazy night of comedy in Victoria to raise funds for Victoria Cool Aid Society. She has also been invited to perform for Public Health Association of BC, Pacific Blue Cross, Correctional Services and numerous medical health professional associations.
The event features Joey Commisso, who's been diagnosed as bipolar, and is hosted by Chilliwack's Cliff Prang.
The last event of September is Margo's 80th Birthday Bash/Roast on Friday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m.
Margo Prentice considers herself "the oldest comic standing."
The night is hosted by Patrick Maliha, the world record holder for most impressions in one minute, beating out the previous record holder, Dana Carvey. His act has been described as Ray Romano meets a 21st century Don Rickles.
A professional stand-up comedian and talented impressionist, Patrick has Headlined and MC'ed various shows at a multitude of comedy clubs, festivals, and corporate events through out Canada and the U.S. In 2008 and 2009 he was voted Favourite Vancouver Comedian in the prestigious Georgia Straight 'Best Of' Awards and has been featured on CBC radio, XM and Sirius satellite radio's various comedy programs. His one-hour Comedy Now special aired in the fall of 2011 on both CTV and The Comedy Network.
