June may not have any cute rhymes about it but it is the unofficial kick off of the hot and happening summer months. As we all know, summer tends to be hard on the wallet, what with it being patio season and all. To help combat that wallet weight-loss, here are 10 free things going on in Toronto this June.

1. Catch a flick at Doc Now Festival

Come see Ryerson's Master of Fine Arts graduates in documentary media showing off their films, photos and art from June 2nd - to the 24th.

2. Stroll around Dundas West Fest

This is an awesome neighbourhood event that showcases restaurants, clothing shops, antique stores, bars and live music on June 3rd.

3. Get your groove on at desiFEST 2017

12 hours of live music is a great event for anyone who loves good music from different artists! Drop by for food vendors, giveaways and other activites on June 3rd!

4. Get toasty at Cherry Beach Bonfire Party

Start the summer with a smore at Cherry Beach on June 9th! Roast around the giant bonfire or get in touch with your spiritual side with a meditation under the moon.

5. Play some tunes at Open Tuning 2017

This June 10th festival celebrates live music with tons of different interactive elements for people to collaberate and create. There are over 130 different acts for you to see and celebrate with!

6. Get cultured at African Experience Festival

The African Experience Festival compiles art, culture, music, dance, fashion, literature, film, food, and sports inspired by the Black community. Some events may cost visitors a bit of cash, but the majority of the event is free free free from June 11th-17th.
