Luxury Music Festival Promoted By Kendall Jenner Was A Total Disaster

After being promoted by models like Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski clad, Fyre Festival seemed like the ultimate music festival. Organized by Ja Rule, Fyre was branded as a "luxury" music festival set on a private island in the Bahamas. Tickets to the festival range from $4,000 to $12,000.

With Fyre slated to begin this weekend, many festival-goers are arriving to the location to find less than ideal conditions. What were described as luxury cabanas are reportedly disaster relief tents.

According to a Reddit thread, the private flights that guests were promised ended up being chartered planes in economy class seating. While gourmet catering was promised, so far the only food has been "two slices of bread, cheese slices and a handful of greens in a styrofoam container." The "private island" turned out to be Great Exuma, which has a population of several thousand. Finally, there have been reports of looting and stolen baggage.

Due to these reports, many musicians begun to drop out and flights were canceled. This morning, festival organizers released a statement on Instagram:

"Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the islands of Exuma. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we must postpone this experience. We are working tirelessly to ensure each guest leaves the island safely and ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation as we continue to provide ongoing updates via email and our official social media channels as they become available, including refund information."
