Description
MACCA began as a group of engaged parents advocating for their children in light of inequitable treatment in the school system. This group of parents banded together to provide a monetary award for black high school graduates. This act of care and generosity has evolved into a well-anticipated gala event that highlights the excellence of our best and brightest young people.
In 2019, we are celebrating 15 of York Region's best and brightest during our annual Markham African Caribbean Canadian Association Scholarship Awards Gala and we are so very proud of their accomplishments. This will take place on Friday November 15th, 2019 at the elegant Crystal Fountain in Markham.
The central focus of our association has always been the education & empowerment of young people in our community, to lead to a stronger future for us all.
