This Beautiful Swimming Hole Is A Little Pocket Of Paradise In Ontario

Friday, Apr 28 05:54 AM

This Ontario hotspot is not really a secret, but it’s still worth giving attention to.

The Elora Quarry is a beautiful limestone quarry that spans two acres wide. A conservation area since 1976, the quarry is one of the province’s most treasured natural swimming holes. Surrounded by lush green forests and stunning 40-foot cliffs, the quarry is a popular spot for locals to take a relaxing dip. A large, sandy beach leads into the waters of the quarry, which are quality tested weekly by park staff every summer.

Cliff jumping is prohibited; however there are still several hiking trails to explore in the elevated areas of the park. This includes the Elora Cataract Trailway, a 47-km trial linking the Grand and Credit river watersheds. Shaded picnic areas and tables are also available throughout the park for those looking to have a barbecue.
